Description

Like London in the United Kingdom, there is more desire in Tokyo, Japan for more authentic American cuisine. Going into the 21st century, while Japan is home to an abundance of burger shops and retro themed diners, there is the beginning of demands for southern barbecue in Tokyo. American barbecue has its roots in many different cultures, especially that of the Amerindians and African cultures which have has long histories of smoking meat for long periods of time. While American barbecue had traditional been a staple almost exclusive to the south, wider American cultural impacts within its sphere of influence have drawn attention to this style of cuisine and many others in countries around the world. The image depicted is an example of the US's wider and developing influence in other countries.
